The Octonauts set out on their five year mission today - to explore the oceans of the world, to rescue any who need help, and to protect those in danger.
Here are the names of the crew:
- Captain Barnacles, a polar bear, is in command of the Octonauts
- Lieutenant Kwazii, second in command, is a cat.
- Peso, a penguin, is the octopod's medic.
- Oceanographer Dr. Inkling is an octopus.
- Marine biologist Dr. Shellington is a sea otter.
- Engineer Tweak is a rabbit. She can fix anything!
- Information technology officer Dashi is a Dachshund. She is an expert with computers and photography.
- Tunip is the ship's cook and gardener. Tunip is a vegimal - a sentient turnip. (Sentient means that Tunip is self-aware, which is more than can be said for most turnips.)
