The Octonauts have begun their mission.
The Octopod, their home for the next five years, was built in a shipyard in Cancun, Mexico, and a large "mother ship" took it from the shipyard out to sea approximately five miles. There it was dropped into the waters of the Caribbean Sea.
Now the Octopod is completely on its own. Its mission is to spend the next five years exploring the oceans.
The first mission of the Octonauts is to explore the caves in a seamount (a mountain under water) off the coast of Cancun.
